Medical Microneedling

Medical Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, offers exceptional skin rejuvenation and resurfacing. It can improve the appearance of many skin conditions, as it helps to tighten loose skin, refine fine lines, smooth rough texture, reduce pores and improve uneven complexion. Unlike lasers, there is no destruction of healthy skin layers and it is safe for all skin types.  Additionally, it is an effective treatment for the reduction of stretch marks and of scars from acne, burns or surgery.

We use SkinStylus®, a handheld device with fine surgical needles, that creates micro-perforations in the top layer of the skin, which in turn stimulates the body to create new collagen and elastin.

How many treatments are recommended?

The number of treatments required will be determined by treatment goals and the health of the skin. However, it is recommended for most people to receive 6 treatments, each

7-10 days apart.  Maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-4 months.

Are the treatments painful?

Patients are comfortable during the treatment with topical lidocaine applied prior to treatment. After the treatment, people describe the sensation of warmth.

What is the downtime associated with microneedling?

In most cases, no downtime is experienced. On average, patients have some slight redness for approximately 2 days, often subsiding completely in 24 hours.

When are results seen?

Many patients notice healthier looking skin immediately. However, the natural repair process of the skin continues to progress over the course of several weeks. Keep in mind dermal collagen remodeling takes place over time. Results continue to improve up to 2-3 months following the last session.
